This policy explains how One Life Expeditions (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal information collected through www.onelifeexpeditions.co. We aim to collect only what we need to run the expedition and to look after you while you’re with us.
1. Who we are
One Life Expeditions is a small group-travel business run by hosts Jordan McDonald and Zayla Twine. You can contact us at hello@onelifeexpeditions.co.
2. What we collect
When you send an enquiry
- Your name, email address and the message you write.
When you submit a booking request
- For each person in your party: name, age, gender, nationality, email, and dietary requirements. A mobile / WhatsApp number is collected for the main booker (optional).
- Allergy and EpiPen information, bed and room-sharing preferences, and snorkelling experience.
- Your confirmation that you are a confident swimmer, that you’re aware of the cost and payment structure, and that you agree to this policy and our terms.
Automatically
- Basic, aggregated visit statistics (pages viewed, referrer, country, device and browser type) through Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies or track you across other websites.
Allergy, dietary and similar health-related details are sensitive. We collect them only so we can keep you safe and plan meals, and we only collect them with your consent.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry or booking request and to contact you about next steps.
- To assess availability, allocate rooms and plan the expedition (meals, transport, safety).
- To book and coordinate flights, accommodation, tours and other services on your behalf once you have confirmed.
- To meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations.
- To understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not send marketing emails unless you ask us to.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only where it’s needed to deliver the expedition or run this website:
- Web3Forms, the form service that securely delivers your enquiry or booking request to our inbox.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and provides privacy-focused analytics.
- Travel providers such as airlines, accommodation, boat and tour operators and restaurants, limited to what they need (for example names for flights, and allergy or medical information relevant to safety).
- Professional advisers or authorities where required by law.
If you contact us on Instagram, that conversation is also subject to Instagram’s own privacy policy.
5. Overseas disclosure
The expedition takes place in the Cook Islands, and some of our service providers (including Web3Forms and Cloudflare) process data outside Australia. By submitting a form you understand your information may be handled overseas for these purposes.
6. Cookies
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may store technical data needed to display the site, but we don’t use it to identify you.
7. Storage and security
Form submissions are sent over an encrypted connection and delivered to a private email inbox. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above (including any legal record-keeping requirements) before deleting or de-identifying it. No online transmission is completely secure, so please avoid including unnecessary sensitive details in free-text fields.
8. Your choices and rights
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted (subject to our legal obligations) by emailing hello@onelifeexpeditions.co. We’ll respond within a reasonable time. If you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
9. Children
This expedition and website are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
